"The CEFR: Nature, Relevance, Current Development"

Dr. Brian North is co-author of the CEFR and the prototype ELP, especially of the descriptors, Head of Academic Development at Eurocentres, and currently EAQUALS Chair.
This presentation will discuss describing language profieincy levels, with reference to the CEFR. It will point out that although the CEFR is not a method, it is considerably more than just a set of 6 defined levels. The CEFR's "action-oriented approach" will be elaborated and the relevance of the CEFR to Planning, Teaching and Assessment will be discussed.
